Munna Bhaiya’s absence was largely seen by the audience as the missing link of the latest offering (Season 3)

Is Munna Bhaiya in for a comeback? A resurrection? A dead man walking?
Well, that’s the question uppermost in his fan’s minds after a hint of that sort was delivered during the announcement of an upcoming Mirzapur bonus episode.
Phoolchand ‘Munna’ Tripathi, aka Munna Bhaiya, played by actor Divyendu Sharma is one of the most cherished roles in the Mirzapur series. While his character is long dead, and Divyendu Sharma was not part of the recent Season 3, there’s been an unprecedented yearning for Munna Bhaiya’s character among fans of the series.
Munna Bhaiya was viewed as the missing link of the latest offering (Season 3).
So, lo and behold, here comes the hint of the likely resurrection of Munna Bhaiya in a bonus episode.
Mirzapur has ruled the OTT as a series, and its characters have gained a humongous fan following.
Pankaj Tripath, as Akhandanand Tripathi aka ‘Kaleen Bhaiya’ – Munna Bhaiya’s father – who runs a carpet and katta (illegal country-made guns) business, is another hugely popular face of the series. As the iron-fisted millionaire carpet exporter and the crime boss of Mirzapur, he has carved out a deep imprint on the series, often lifting it with his power-packed yet highly restrained play.
His son Munna, the unworthy, power-hungry heir who will stop at nothing to claim his father’s legacy and his ruthless ways, is one of the most lovable villains of recent times. One is quite reminded of Shatrughan Sinha’s early days in villain roles when he used to draw more claps than the protagonists.
Mirzapur is an Indian action crime thriller streaming television series created for Amazon Prime Video, by Karan Anshuman, who wrote the script along with Puneet Krishna and Vineet Krishna.
While Anshuman directed the first season of the series, along with Gurmmeet Singh and Mihir Desai, the latter directed the second season.
The series is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar of Excel Entertainment.
