Truth is what the world needs most today; but truth is undoubtedly the hardest thing to find. And truth is on which the world is perhaps more divided than ever: more than any other time. The news industry of all hues, language, size and affiliations across the world claims to be disseminating truth. But do they? Some do but most don’t. Unfortunately, the news industry, acorss the world, has become the single largest source of misinformation, lies and duplicity contributing the most in the decline of people’s trust in our institutions.
In this all-pervading dishonesty of the news industry, The News Porter, an online news magazine, is into an effort to show that the need for honest journalism is more than ever now. Its content has been an eye-opener to many and its commitment to unravelling truth is definitely much more deeper than many big names. Its articles and reports, in addition to being interesting, have stirred up conversations and thoughts about the role of free press in today’s societies.
Since it embarked its journey, The News Porter has not spared any effort to remain steadfastly committed to quality journalism, catered its readers excellent pieces of news and opinions on a variety of subjects and issues that matter. It has picked up stories that have been ignored by many, in fact, by most others in their rush for creating sensational headlines.
With its limited budget and resources, The News Porter has indeed performed much better than what many expected. I have been regularly reading its articles and referred to it often. I admit it has given me the satisfaction and joy of reading which many big names of the industry have failed to do.
