Keir Starmer promises to confront difficulties with “raw honesty”
In response to a question concerning tax increases, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said he would have to make “tough decisions” and promised to confront difficulties with “raw honesty” during his first media grilling as prime minister.
In a significant move, Starmer declared that the Tories’ deportation scheme from Rwanda was “dead and buried” on his first full day in Downing Street.
As he announced intentions to tour all four UK countries, Starmer said Labour had “a clear mandate to govern for all four corners of the United Kingdom” following the party’s resounding victory in the general election. (With inputs from agencies)
