The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the immediate suspension of the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 for a period of one week.
This decision was made by the IPL Governing Council following extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including franchise representatives, who relayed the concerns and sentiments of their players, as well as inputs from the official broadcaster, sponsors, and fans.
While the BCCI maintains full confidence in the capabilities and preparedness of the Indian armed forces, the decision was taken in the collective interest of all involved parties.
Before arriving at this conclusion, several alternatives—such as the potential relocation of venues—were thoroughly considered.
Further information regarding the revised schedule and venues will be communicated in due course, following a detailed assessment of the evolving situation in coordination with relevant authorities and stakeholders, the BCCI stated in an official press release.
