Afghanistan have done what few could ever contemplate they could. They have reached the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
In a rain-marred match Tuesday, they upstaged Bangladesh to book their semis berth in cricket’s mega tournament in West Indies, thereby making history for their country.
They prevailed over their Asian rivals by 8 runs by the DLS method.
Afghanistan will now face the red-hot in-form South African team in Trinidad and Tobago, one of the favourites to lift the coveted trophy.
India will face England in the other semi-final match, where the weather may play spoilsport. If that match is washed out, India will go straight to the Final as they’ve topped their group in the points table.
