How old is old? And how young is young?
There can be no definitive answers. It all depends on which side of the fence you like to stand on.
A large number of people seem to hit a mental block of sorts as they hit their 50’s or later.
For many others, age is just a number, after all.
Salma Hayek, who’s in news lately, is 54. Add to it the fact that she has been through a bout of Covid-19. Her doctor had even advised her to get admitted in hospital as they considered it serious enough, according to news reports.
But here she is in one of her busiest promotion schedules as she is featuring in some big films this year (2021) and the line-up includes Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, The Eternals, and The House of Gucci. And yes, she’s trending and hogging the limelight.

One of the things about her is that she’s hardly lost an iota of the charm and beauty that she’s always oozed. It’s really very, very difficult to believe she’s 54. She may as well be 44, 34 or may be less if one were to go by what her legion of fans sees in her!
Salma’s breakthrough role came in the 2002 biographical film Frida, a film in which essayed the role of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Frida fetched her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress, becoming the first Mexican actress nominated in that category. She was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and British Academy Film Award for Best Actress. The film garnered immense praise and went on to become a critical and commercial success.
Her other notable films include Grown Ups (2010), Puss in Boots (2011), Grown Ups 2 (2013), Tale of Tales (2015), Sausage Party (2016), The Hitman’s Bodyguard (2017), Like a Boss (2020), and Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard (2021).
