The largest integrated exhibition and convention centre in India that has hosted several international events and been twice awarded as the best convention centre, including the Best Standalone Convention Centre by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, India Exposition Mart Limited (IEML), is getting ready to host delegates on its campus itself at the all-new Expo Inn, Suites & Convention. Located in Greater Noida, a destination coming under the spotlight due to record investments in commercial and housing projects, and the coming up of Jewar Airport (only 20 minutes from IEML), it is going to be the prime hub of activities in the coming years.
This was announced by Rakesh Kumar, chairman, IEML. He said this would be the very first business hotel offering in the country to be located within a trade fair venue. He added that the company is excited to be the chosen partners for some of the top trade events in the new year, including Motor show, India’s largest biennial automobile exhibition in January 2023 and SATTE (Feb 9-11, 2023) Asia’s leading travel and tourism exhibition to conduct business, share knowledge, exchange ideas.
Buzzy and busy
The new 134 room property will be kept very buzzy and busy throughout the New Year with a stellar line-up of events also including BAUMA CONEXPO INDIA – the International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, The India International Garment Fair, World Start-Up Convention 2023 and Elecrama 2023.
Kumar said that IEML is looking at business expansions in different states in the upcoming year. “This is a very big focus for us. We have signed on Jodhpur. Multiple Tier 2 cities in North India are also under our plans,” he said.
Sudeep Sarcar, CEO, IEML said, “Trade fair grounds build a huge ecosystem to provide local employment. While manufacturing is going on in SMEs and MSMEs in many parts of the country, we provide the physical platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their brand and products to a global buyer. Governments can build the centers, but we provide expertise, running processes, modern infrastructure and logistics which are the backbone of successful trade fairs.”
India is the fastest growing exhibition country in Asia, he said and added, “In terms of space it is the second largest and in terms of events the third largest. MICE market including Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions.”
“During earlier COVID wave, when everything was closed, IEML stayed focused on going ahead with our plans on expansion,” said the CEO. “We will continue to stay on track and are fully prepared with all safety precautions,” he added.
Confident of itself, IEML which claims hosting over 40 national and international events annually is going into 2023 all engines blasting with a possible IPO, expansion to other states, bringing in bigger expos all being on the agenda in months to come.
The 134-roomed Expo Inn, Suites & Convention has two restaurants (one multi cuisine restaurant and one deli-style cafe), a bar and in-room dining. Other facilities include a spa, swimming pool and gym. The property has multiple banquet halls in the premise that can be used for MICE events and other social events on non-expo dates along with maximum number of Breakaway Rooms for parallel meeting sessions. Rooms are of four categories – Standard Twin rooms, King Bedrooms, Executive Suit Rooms and Presidential Suits.
Rakesh Kumar is also the Director General of Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts besides on boards of several reputed government and non-government organizations.
