Charles III (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is King of the United Kingdom and the 14 other Commonwealth realms
It’s finally dawned a new era for the United Kingdom (UK) as the 75-year-old Charles III was officially crowned the King.
The official coronation was completed as the St Edward’s Crown was placed on top of King Charles’ head by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
“God save the King”, cried the congregation, while gun salutes were fired across the UK to mark the historical moment, media reports said.
The Archbishop said: Receive this Robe: may the Lord clothe you with the robe of righteousness, and with the garments of salvation.”
Charles III (Charles Philip Arthur George) was born on 14 November 1948 in Buckingham Palace during the reign of his maternal grandfather, George VI, and was three years old when his mother, Elizabeth II, acceded to the throne in 1952, making him the heir apparent.
He was made Prince of Wales in 1958 and his investiture was held in 1969.
