The much-anticipated ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final tie turned into a one-sided affair as India thrashed the Jose Butler-led English side by a large margin of 68 runs.

The semi-final match played at Providence on June 27 was interrupted several times by rain, including a delayed start, but it did little to affect the tide that blew only one way.

After being sent in to bat by the English side, India, led by another cracking inning by skipper Rohit Sharma, made 171/7 in the allotted 20 overs.

In reply, England’s inning folded at 103 in 16.4 overs, handing Men in Blue a comprehensive and formidable win.

Earlier, the same day, South Africa thrashed Afghanistan in the other semi-final to book a berth in the Final.

The Final is slated to be played on June 29 and both India and Proteas have been unbeaten in the tournament so far.
