It was a Friday of massive IT outage that wreaked havoc on airlines, broadcasters and firms worldwide. Computer problems were severely disrupting media outlets, banks, telecommunications businesses, airlines, and airports across the globe.
Airports from Sydney and New Delhi to Berlin and Zurich were among those citing varying degrees of service interruptions, which were allegedly caused by an update from the IT security firm CrowdStrike.
“This isn’t a cyberattack or security incident. The problem has been located, isolated, and fixed,” George Kurtz, the CEO of CrowdStrike, wrote on social media platform X.
An official from Microsoft, a major player in the software industry, stated that the business was “aware of an issue affecting Windows devices due to an update from a third-party software platform.”
The message also said, “We anticipate a resolution is forthcoming.”
