More flight delays and cancellations are still anticipated following the IT outage
Following a worldwide IT breakdown, experts have predicted that there would be more flight delays and cancellations throughout the weekend. They also cautioned that it would take several weeks for systems to fully recover.
A faulty update released on Friday by cybersecurity company CrowdStrike took many offline globally, leading to the cancellation of flights and trains as well as the collapse of some healthcare systems.
Friday afternoon saw the release of a patch for an update flaw that was affecting Microsoft Windows PCs.
The company’s CEO, who was at the core of the outage, cautioned that it would take “some time” for systems to fully recover.
Also expressing regret over the incidents, George Kurtz said he is “deeply sorry”.
